Hans Reinhart Ring

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hans-Reinhart-Ring is considered to be the highest award in theater life in Switzerland and was awarded from 1957 to 2013 by the Swiss Society for Theater Culture (SGTK).

The ring is named after the Winterthur patron Hans Reinhart , who donated it in 1957. After its foundation was exhausted, the SGTK carried it. A specially appointed jury, which consisted of five people and was determined by the board of the SGTK, awarded this award. No ring was awarded in 1992.

In an agreement with the Federal Office of Culture , the SGTK transferred the Hans-Reinhart-Ring in 2014 to the newly created Swiss Grand Prix Theater / Hans-Reinhart-Ring endowed with 100,000 francs . She continues to be involved in the award ceremony by handing over a specially made ring to the award winner as before and documenting her work as part of her Mimos.Schweizer Theater-Jahrbuch series . Since then, the award has been made on the recommendation of the Federal Theater Jury , which is also active in the context of the Swiss Theater Prize .
