life and work

education

Netzer grew up in Savognin as the son of Rudi and Lucia Netzer and attended elementary school there. At the Bündner Kantonsschule in Chur he graduated from the classical grammar school and enrolled at the Chur Theological University in 1987 . After completing basic studies in philosophy and theology , he continued his studies at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich in 1989 and completed his theological training with a licentiate . At the same time he took up a second degree in theater studies and art history and deepened his study of liturgical studies . In 2001 he did his doctorate with Si en parvis! , a work on the Rhaeto-Romanic Baroque drama of the 18th century.

First theater and opera projects

Since 1992 Netzer has realized various theater and opera projects , often in the field of spiritual play : he staged his own arrangements with amateur players, for example the Rhaeto-Romanic church play Placi based on the legend about the founders of the Disentis Monastery (performed in 1992 in Savognin and Disentis ) as well as Shakespeare's Der Sturm as a trilingual performance in German, Romansh and Italian under the title Igl orcan u La muntogna striunada ‹The storm or the enchanted mountain› (performed in 1995 in Savognin, Scuol , Disentis and in the Stadttheater Chur ). He also wrote libretti for operas and musical works by Gion Antoni Derungs , which he also staged: The new church opera König Balthasar (world premiere: October 13, 1998 in the cathedral in Chur , then also shown in the Jesuit Church in Lucerne and in the Ludwig Church in Munich) , The birth of Athena. Scene in three chants for mezzo-soprano and piano (world premiere: March 24, 2000, Semper Aula of the Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich ), Passio nova (passion play, world premiere: September 28, 2001 in the Martinskirche in Savognin) and Pievel da notg. Tschintg canzungs misteriousas per chor viril e pianoforte. ‹Night people. Five mysterious songs for male choir and piano ›(2002). Netzer wrote the libretto in German and Romansh for the music theater production Federico and took over the direction (premiere: August 2, 2002 as an open-air play in Brienz / Brinzauls as part of the UN Year of Mountains ). In addition to dramatic texts, Netzer also wrote short stories, some of which were published in 1999 under the title La mort da Giulietta .

Functions

Netzer has been a board member of the Swiss Society for Theater Culture since 1993 , he was Vice President of the Center Suisse ITI as representative of the Lia Rumantscha from 1994–1995 and has been President of the Uniun da scripturas e scripturs rumantschs ‹Rhaeto-Romanic Writers' Association since 2001 . Netzer also works as a freelancer for Cuminanza Rumantscha Radio e Televisiun . In 2001, Netzer took over the management of the Chesa Planta in Samedan on behalf of the Fundaziun Planta and designed a concept for the expansion of the patrician house into a regional cultural center, which was not implemented despite successful start-up financing.

"Origen Festival Cultural"

In 2003 Netzer began to plan and finance the expansion of Riom Castle into a theater house in collaboration with Helen Cabalzar . Two years later he founded the Origen Festival Cultural , which is based in the Middle Grisons and is mainly dedicated to new music theater . In 2006, then Federal President Moritz Leuenberger opened the first professional Romansh theater in history at Riom Castle. Netzer has been the director and in- house director of the Burgtheater ever since . Small, professional theater workshops have sprung up around the Origen Theater that produce costumes, sets and masks - far from any urban agglomeration . 2007 founded Netzer, the Foundation Fundaziun Origen and received by the population of the district Surses in a democratic referendum the building rights on the castle Riom. Netzer is currently working on behalf of Fundaziun Origen to further expand the Burgtheater so that it can be used all year round in the future. The Origen Festival Cultural has grown steadily. With 6,700 spectators and a hundred events in Graubünden , Basel , Zurich and Lucerne , it is now the largest classical music festival in Graubünden. Netzer's mother Lucia Netzer-Peduzzi created the costumes for most of the productions.
