Hans Weiner-Dillmann (born April 28, 1903 in Vienna ; † February 10, 1990 there ; actually Hans Dillmann ) was an Austrian composer of operettas , Viennese songs and pop hits .

Life

Hans Weiner-Dillmann first attended the teacher training college in Vienna- Währing and also studied piano, organ, harmonium, violin and flute with the operetta composer Charles Weinberger and instrumentation with the military bandmaster Carl Wetaschek. His musical career began as a pianist in the Vienna Student Union Orchestra and at the age of 15 as its conductor. Later he was a répétiteur at the Raimund Theater in Vienna , Kapellmeister in the cabaret Hölle and bar pianist in Vienna and German cities. Weiner-Dillmann worked for a music publisher and lived in the 12th district of Meidling in Vienna. In 1923 he became a member of the AKM and held various functions there.

Weiner-Dillmann was one of the first musical employees of the radio station in 1945 to be instrumental in setting up the Rot-Weiß-Rot transmitter, for which he designed numerous programs. During the Second World War he worked for Willi Forst's Vienna Film , after the war for the Salzburg State Theater . Hans Weiner-Dillmann was married to Johanna Wolf. The marriage has two children, Felix and Erik. He was buried in an honorary grave at the Meidlinger Friedhof .

With the support of Carl Michael Ziehrer , Weiner-Dillmann wrote operettas and revue music early on. After the Second World War he accompanied artists such as Hans Moser and Magda Schneider on the piano. He began to write hits and chansons for the radio and wrote Viennese songs . He left a total of more than 800 songs that were performed by young interpreters and well-known artists he supported ( Maria von Schmedes , Heinz Conrads , Vico Torriani ). He worked closely with the Viennese pianist Herbert Seiter. Hans Weiner-Dillmann also worked with Peter Alexander in the course of his musical career. In the 80s, Hans Weiner-Dillmann composed, among other things, the song "I am of opinion" about the Federal Chancellor Bruno Kreisky, which he performed with the state secretary Franziska Fast.
