The Hansestar is a catamaran that was used by the Elbe-City-Jet fast ferries on the Elbe between Hamburg and Stadersand until the end of October 2007 .

history

The ship was built under hull number 308 at the Lindstøl Skips & Båtbyggeri shipyard in Risør in southern Norway . The launch took place on July 9, 1997. The ship was delivered on July 16, 1997 to the shipping company Elbe-City-Jet fast ferries. The shipping company initially used the ship between Hamburg and Cuxhaven . Among other things, it served as a feeder for the coat of arms of Hamburg , which ran from Cuxhaven to Heligoland .

In 1999 the ship switched to the route between Hamburg and Stadersand operated by Elbe-City-Jet high-speed ferries with two smaller catamarans, replacing the two smaller ferries. In addition to the landing bridges in Hamburg and Stadersand, the pier in Lühe was also called. From 2005 Blankenese and 2007 Wedel / Schulau were added as additional stops.

In March 2008 the ship was sold to the Dutch shipping company Eigen Veerdienst Terschelling (EVT), which used it between Harlingen and Terschelling . The ship's new name was Willem Barentz (after the Dutch navigator and explorer Barents ).

In early 2010 the ship was sold to South Korea . It operates there as a Koreana between Incheon and Deokjeokdo Island.

The ship could carry 322 passengers on two decks . After a renovation, the passenger capacity is 250 people. In addition, 40 bicycles can be transported.

The drive of the ship by two MTU - Diesel engines (type: 12V396TE74L) each with 1,500  kW power . The motors act on two controllable pitch propellers .
