Hansfried Münchberg (* 1946 in Bad Vilbel ) is a German painter and graphic artist .

Life

Münchberg grew up in the Gronau district of Bad Vilbel and Moers . After completing his apprenticeship as a chemical laboratory assistant at Rheinpreußen AG , he studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich from 1974 to 1980 . He was a master student of Jürgen Reipka , after completing his studies he was a freelance artist in Munich . Münchberg has lived in Moers again since 1993.

The themes of his pictures are color, shape and light. From the three basic colors red, blue and yellow he develops continuous color sequences which, placed next to one another in fine lines, bring movement and imaginary spaces into the picture. Most of the pictures come from the tradition of constructive painting and pass into Op Art . Color phenomena are used as a possibility to fool the eye through perspective construction and color tricks. Technically perfect, reduced shapes and designs based on play of colors and leaps of illusion. Out of colored surfaces, which allow only an illusion of space, contours emerge, geometric shapes that seem to push against the striped world from behind.
