Haron Keitany (born December 17, 1983 in Eldoret ) is a Kenyan middle distance runner .

At the beginning of his career, injuries repeatedly prevented his planned start at major international events such as the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne and the 2007 World Athletics Championships in Osaka. His breakthrough came in 2008. At the African Championships in Addis Ababa , he won the 1500-meter title . In the same year he missed the qualification for the Olympic Games in Beijing , but was able to win the 1,500-meter races at Weltklasse Zürich and the World Athletics Finals in Stuttgart.

In 2009 he finished second over 1500 meters at the ISTAF in Berlin with a personal best of 3: 30.20 min. Two months later at the World Championships in the same place, he started as a medal contender, but was unable to make it to the semi-finals due to injury. At the 2010 World Indoor Championships in Doha, he won the bronze medal in 3: 42.32 minutes.

Haran Keitany is 1.88 m and has a competition weight of 68 kg. He is looked after by Golazo Sports .
