Harry Gillmann
Harry Gillmann (born June 17, 1897 in Berlin ; † January 20, 1967 there ) was a German actor .
Life
After completing his training, Harry Gillmann made his debut in Berlin in 1916 , where he was present on a wide variety of stages over the course of the next five decades. As early as 1936 he had received his first film assignments. From 1951 to 1961 he was a member of the Berliner Ensemble . During this time he was also offered various roles at DEFA and German TV broadcaster . Since he lived in West Berlin , Harry Gillmann was no longer willing to work in East Berlin after the construction of the Wall and then worked at the Freie Volksbühne Berlin and at the Schaubühne am Halleschen Ufer under Peter Stein.
