Harry Keramidas

Harold "Harry" Thomas Keramidas (born August 1940 in Detroit , Michigan ) is an American film editor .

Life

Harold Thomas Keramidas grew up in Detroit. After graduating from high school, he studied at the University of Michigan and Wayne State University , where he earned a degree in industrial psychology. After two years of service in the Peace Corps in the Dominican Republic , he moved to Los Angeles , where he his interest in ethnographic film follows on the " UCLA Graduate Film School" studied. He then worked at the Office of Economic Opportunity , the National Film Board of Canada and the Encyclopædia Britannica .

After Harry Keramidas joined the American Cinema Editors in 1997 , it was primarily films such as Children of Anger , Attack of the 20-Meter Woman and Judge Dredd , as well as the film series Back to the Future , for which he gained notoriety. For the first film in particular, Back to the Future , he received a 1986 BAFTA nomination for Best Film Editing .
