Haus im Wald (officially: Haus i.Wald ) is a district of the Lower Bavarian town of Grafenau in the Freyung-Grafenau district . Until 1978 Haus im Wald was also an independent municipality (until 1951 as the municipality of Furth ).

location

House is on a hill in the Bavarian Forest about six kilometers south of Grafenau.

history

The Hofmark Haus originally only consisted of the castle , which was probably built in the 13th century , under whose protection the village developed. Originally, the town on a hill castle "Veste Vurt" was after in the valley of Ilz lying ford around which the town of Furth developed.

The castle burned down in 1510 and was rebuilt in 1551. The name "Hauss" appears for the first time in a fiefdom from 1550. A castle chapel is mentioned in 1726, and a school chapel was established in the castle in 1862. The Expositur Haus was established in 1880, the neo-Gothic Church of the Holy Heart of Jesus was built in 1885/86 , and in 1896 it was elevated to a parish .

The Haus im Wald sports club was founded in 1946. On August 1, 1951, the community of Furth, which had existed since 1818, was given the designation "House in the Forest" to avoid confusion with other localities.

Regional reform in Bavaria

The communities Heinrichsreit and Nendlnach were incorporated on April 1, 1971. On July 1, 1973 the municipality comprised the following 16 parts of the municipality: Haus i.Wald, Biberbach , Bibereck , Eiblöd , Ettlmühle , Furth , Furthhammer , Harretsreuth , Harschetsreuth , Haselbach , Heinrichsreit, Hörmannsberg , Nendlnach, Rentpoldenreuth , Scharrmühle and Stöckelholz . On January 1, 1978, most of the community of Haus im Wald came to Grafenau. The villages of Biberbach, Bibereck, Rentpoldenreuth and Scharrmühle, however, were reclassified to Perlesreut .
