geography

course

The Heckbach rises as Hollbach from a source at about 409  m above sea level. NN in Gewann Schlat northeast of Kusterdingen-Wankheim and moves in a flat course eastwards towards the municipality Jettenburg, where it receives some partly longer inflows. Shortly before Jettenburg it crosses under the B 28 , then it passes through the village, at the end of which it turns north along the edge of the forest and takes in its left source stream Segaderbach , which is only half as long . The combined stream , now called Heckbach , crosses in a now noticeable valley basin and in a north-easterly direction for almost half a kilometer a strip of forest, after which it soon runs from the south to the Lumpenbach , which even here exceeds it somewhat in length and catchment area. Then he moves north-northeast to Wannweil , where he is in the center of the village at about 320  m above sea level. NN flows into the lower Echaz from the left .

Catchment area

The Heckbach has a catchment area of 13.2 km², to which the Lumpenbach contributes 6.38 km². It extends from its southwestern tip west of Kusterdingen-Mähringen, where it is around 440  m above sea level. NN reached the greatest heights, about 6 km to the northeast to the mouth; across it it reaches a width of almost 3.5 km.

In the northwest, the catchment area of the Neckar tributary borders the Blaulach , in the north the Ramslach also drains the village of Kusterdingen directly to the Neckar. In the north-east the receiving Echaz competes , in the east and south-east its left tributary Firstbach intervenes. The southern watershed runs close to the edge of the valley of the Herrenbach , which itself drains west to the Steinlach , which last competes in the southwest and also feeds the Neckar.

About 0.7 km² of the catchment area belong to the northeastern tip before the confluence with Wannweil , on the south-eastern edge less than 0.3 km² of uninhabited terrain belong to the Ohmenhausen district of Reutlingen , the vast majority of the remainder belongs to Kusterdingen . About 1.4 km² of its area is forested, in the open country arable farming clearly predominates.
