Heidi Beutin (born June 29, 1945 in Hamburg ) is a German science journalist , politician ( Die Linke ) and trade unionist .

education and study

After completing a commercial apprenticeship, Heidi Beutin worked as a commercial clerk at Tretorn and BP . During this time, made her high school on the second chance . She then studied political science and German at the University of Hamburg . During her studies she worked at dpa . She graduated in 1980.

Then she began to work as a science journalist. The main fields of work of Heidi Beutin include topics of the women's movement and the labor movement as well as literary topics from the Middle Ages and the 18th and 19th centuries, among others. a. to Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach , Gerhard Anton von Halem , Lily Braun and Gertrud Bäumer . She is a member of the Oswald von Wolkenstein Society and second chairwoman of the Kurt Hiller Society .

Beutin lives in Köthel in the Stormarn district in Schleswig-Holstein and is married to the literary scholar and writer Wolfgang Beutin . Her son Lorenz Gösta Beutin has been a member of the Bundestag since 2017.

Political activity

Heidi Beutin was active in the German Peace Union (DFU) and the Association of Those Persecuted by the Nazi Regime (VVN) as well as in the anti-nuclear movement . In the ver.di union , she is the chairwoman of the free and self-employed in Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . In addition, she is an honorary member of the regional board of ver.di Nord (spokeswoman for the freelance and self-employed) and a member of the board of VS Schleswig-Holstein .

After being a sympathizer of the PDS in 2002/2003 , Heidi Beutin supported the Work & Social Justice initiative at the beginning of 2004 and was actively involved in establishing it on site. In mid-2006, Beutin became a member of the Left Party in Schleswig-Holstein. Since 2007 she has been the spokeswoman for the Stormarn district association of LINKEN . She is a member of the Stormarn District Assembly for her party.
