Spring song is a German film by director Hans Albin from 1954. A Swiss-German dialect version was created under the title 's Vreneli vom Eggisberg . The German title was Heidi and her friends , the Austrian title In the mountains is where happiness lives .
action
Six year old Wolfgang is a musical child prodigy . He already gives piano concerts . His uncle Fabricius urges him to always achieve new heights. The doctors urgently advise him to give the child some rest. When Fabricius had a traffic accident, he agreed that the boy could go to Switzerland for six weeks to relax.
Frau Lauber welcomes Wolfgang lovingly and gives him the affection he lacks from his strict uncle. Wolfgang also met Heidi there. At first the two quarrel, but then become friends. The friendship with Jöggi proves a little more difficult. At first he is jealous that Heidi spends so much time with Wolfgang. Even his uncle Abegg, with whom Jöggi lives on an alp, cannot appease him.
In search of his dog, which he received from Frau Lauber, Wolfgang falls into a torrent. Heidi and Jöggi can barely save him. Wolfgang gets pneumonia from hypothermia. But because Jöggi is now worried about Wolfgang, he will quickly get well again.
But then Wolfgang's uncle Fabricius shows up and takes Wolfgang on tour again. At a live concert on television, Wolfgang collapses from exhaustion. After the doctor gave him his opinion very drastically, Fabricius realizes that he was overwhelming the boy and brings him back to Frau Lauber.
Production notes
The film was produced in a makeshift studio in Munich-Pullach. The outdoor shots were taken in the Bernese Oberland , Lucerne and Grindelwald . Ernst H. Albrecht and Walter Zollin were responsible for the buildings. Helmuth Schönnenbeck took over the production management. The premiere took place on November 4, 1954 in Cologne.
particularities
Elsbeth Sigmund and Heinrich Gretler play roles similar to those in the previously filmed and very successful film Heidi . Since a larger part of the spring song takes place in the mountains and there is also a boy similar to Goat Peter, associations with Johanna Spyri's character are obvious. In fact, the film is also being marketed under the title Heidi and her friends . However, Spyri is not mentioned in the opening credits of Spring Song, and Heidi is also a diminutive of Heidemarie in the 1954 film .
criticism
"Heartfelt, unrealistic and honest conversation."
