Heinrich Erhard Heeren
Heinrich Erhard Heeren , with full name Heinrich Erhard Reinhold Heeren , also Hinrich Erhard Heeren and Henricus E. Heeren , (born February 16, 1728 in Wremen ; † March 7, 1811 in Bremen ) was a German Protestant clergyman, pastor, teacher, preacher at Bremen Cathedral as well as author and hymn poet.
Life
Heeren was the son of the clergyman Hermann Heeren (1688–1745), who was cathedral preacher in Bremen from 1741, where he received his higher education at the cathedral school and the Athenaeum . From 1746 he studied Protestant theology , first at the University of Jena , then from 1748 to 1750 at the University of Göttingen . After his return to Bremen, Heeren taught there as a private teacher from 1750 to 1754 . He passed the theological exams in 1753 and the philological exams in 1754. In 1754 he became sub-rector of the cathedral school and the Athenaeum.
In 1760 Heeren became pastor in Arbergen near Bremen and worked as a cathedral preacher at Bremen Cathedral from 1775 until the year of his death in 1811 , and in 1805 he became the first cathedral preacher. Here he was also active as a poet and collector of hymns . The clergyman's grave is also located in Bremen Cathedral.

In 1758 Heeren married Margarete, née Wolters (* around 1738 in Bremen; † March 30, 1770 in Arbergen), who gave birth to three sons and a daughter in Arbergen: the later historian Arnold Heeren (* October 25, 1760 in Arbergen; † 7. March 1811 in Bremen), Friedericia Maria Heeren (born August 17, 1762 in Arbergen), the teacher Georg Hinrich Erhard Heeren (born December 14, 1764 in Arbergen, † June 6, 1805 in Bremen) and the businessman Christoph, who later worked in Hamburg Friedrich Heeren (born January 2, 1770 in Arbergen, † July 7, 1843 in Hamburg). A son of the Hamburg businessman was the later chemist Friedrich Heeren , who was born there .
