Heinrich Friedrich Ernst von Corvin-Wiersbitzki (also: Corvin Wierzbicki *, 1. February 1768 on Gehlweiden ; † 17th April 1823 ) was a Prussian major general.

Life

origin

He was the son of Johann Friedrich von Corvin-Wiersbitzki (* December 18, 1714 - June 22, 1768) and his wife Elisabeth Christine Hermine, born von Graevenitz (* 1730 - January 20, 1810). His father was a Prussian captain a. D. , last in the infantry regiment "von Münchow" , as well as hereditary lord on Gehlweiden. His uncle was Major General Georg Ludwig von Wiersbitzki .

Military career

Corvin-Wiersbitzki came in 1771 as a private corporal in the "Finck von Finckenstein" dragoon regiment of the Prussian army , to which he was to belong for the rest of his life. There he advanced to secondary lieutenant until the end of September 1776 and took part in the battle near Jägersdorf in 1778/79 during the War of the Bavarian Succession . In the following years Corvin-Wiersbitzki rose to major . In 1794 he fought during the campaign in Poland in front of Warsaw , near Wanikowo, Powonst and Great Magnuszewo. In recognition of his achievements, King Friedrich Wilhelm II awarded him the order Pour le Mérite on September 3, 1794 .

On December 31, 1803 Corvin-Wiersbitzki was appointed regimental commander and in this position was promoted to lieutenant colonel on May 20, 1804 with a patent from May 22, 1804 and to colonel on May 20, 1806. In the Fourth Coalition War he fought in the battles of Prussian Eylau and Friedland . After the peace of Tilsit he was made inactive in 1807 with half pay. Despite the Wars of Liberation , Corvin-Wiersbitzki was no longer used. From December 1, 1813, he received a pension of 900 Taler and on March 9, 1814, he was given the character of major general. Corvin-Wiersbitzki died on April 17, 1823 unmarried in Gehlweiden.

Although he was unmarried, Corvin-Wiersbitzki had two daughters and a son. The daughter Henriette Augustine (* August 24, 1791 - December 11, 1861), whom he legitimized on March 1, 1795, emerged from the relationship with Regine Elmers. She later married Lieutenant August Boguslaw von Glasenapp (* April 5, 1781, † September 6, 1863), Lord of Rogallen. With Louise Cholewa Corvin-Wiersbitzki had the daughter Hermine Henriette Louise (born June 10, 1808, † August 10, 1880). She married the city secretary of Goldap David Stotz and after his death on June 6, 1830, the landowner Johann Heinrich Borkowski (born January 3, 1800, † July 6, 1865) on Tratzen near Lyck.
