Heinrich Lutter (born August 13, 1858 in Hanover ; † October 11, 1937 there ) was a German pianist and piano teacher .

Life

Heinrich Lutter was born in the royal seat of the Kingdom of Hanover as the son of a music teacher. After the proclamation of the German Empire , Lutter studied piano with Franz Liszt in Weimar and Budapest from 1876 to 1886 , and - also in Budapest - composition with Robert Volkmann , and finally, again in Hanover, piano with Hans von Bülow . The content of a letter from von Bülow dated November 18, 1877 from Glasgow to Lutter in Hanover has survived.

Lutter quickly made a name for himself as a piano teacher in his hometown, where in 1887 he initiated the “Lutter Concerts”, which he then directed. "The best singers, violinists, cellists and pianists" performed in the highly regarded chamber music concerts .

In 1888 he joined the Hanover Art Association . During the respective “ season ” in London , Heinrich Lutter performed as a pianist from 1891 until the beginning of the First World War and also gave piano lessons there.

As a partner, Lutter often accompanied Joseph Joachim on concert tours from 1897 to 1906. In 1908 Heinrich Lutter was appointed professor . The royal professor and court pianist lived at least temporarily at Ferdinandstrasse 21 .

In 1910 Lutter founded the Celler Musikfreunde association together with the musician Theodor Krüger in Celle . Heinrich Lutter died in Hanover in 1937.
