Heinz Miederer (born May 16, 1928 in Roth ; † November 5, 1990 in Neuendettelsau ) was pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria and the ninth rector of the Diakoniewerk Neuendettelsau .

Vita

He spent his childhood and youth in Nuremberg-Reichelsdorf , where his parents ran a gardening business. After graduating from high school in 1947, he studied Protestant theology in Neuendettelsau , Erlangen and Heidelberg . On March 16, 1952, he was ordained by the district dean Julius Schieder . He worked as a vicar in Eichstätt. In 1955 he married his wife Gertrud, née Luther. The marriage resulted in two sons, Thomas and Martin. From 1956 to 1963 he was pastor in Zeilitzheim .

Since 1963 he has been a sister and brother pastor of the Neuendettelsau Diakonissenanstalt. In 1968 he was appointed deputy principal. From 1975 to 1990 he was rector of the Diakoniewerk Neuendettelsau.

During his term of office, on the one hand the decline in the number of deaconesses had to be mastered, on the other hand the expansion of the Diakoniewerk, which increased the number of employees from 2,300 in 1975 to 4,000 in 1990. Many outstations in the surrounding villages, which were run by deaconesses, had to be closed, and basic courses had to be developed for freelance workers, which could convey the biblical-diaconal mission.

Areas of responsibility and honors

From 1980 to 1990 he was chairman of the Kaiserswerther Association , from 1984 to 1990 he was president of the Diakonisches Werk Bayern , from 1986 to 1990 he was chairman of the Bavarian working group for the promotion of nursing. Furthermore, he was a member of the regional synod and the regional synodal committee, member of the regional health council and visiting lecturer at the Augustana University in Neuendettelsau.

Miederer was a bearer of the Bavarian Order of Merit .
