Johannes Friedrich Master

Johannes Friedrich Meister (born December 28, 1926 in Nuremberg ; † November 28, 2014 in Neuendettelsau ) was a German Evangelical Lutheran clergyman.

Life

Johannes Meister first worked as a parish pastor in Waldkraiburg , then as a pastor in the Lutheran Church Office in Hanover . He then worked in Sommersdorf - Thann in Central Franconia . In October 1963 he was appointed rector of the Neuendettelsau deaconess institution. At the same time he was President of the Diakonie Bayern . Between 1967 and 1975 he took over the management of the Diakoniewerk Neuendettelsau . From 1975 until his retirement in 1989, Master was district dean and senior church councilor in the Bayreuth church district and a member of the regional church council and the church leadership of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria . During this time he was also honorary president of Diakonie Bayern and chairman of the Diakonisches Rats. His commitment was to renew and expand the diaconal institutions in Bavaria. During his tenure, the Labor Law Commission was set up and the first employee representation law in the Bavarian regional church came into force.

Johannes Friedrich Meister was married and had eight children.

Meister spent his retirement in Heilsbronn in Central Franconia . He was buried on December 4, 2014 in the Diakonie cemetery in Neuendettelsau. Meister was a bearer of the Bavarian Order of Merit .
