Heinz Rölleke

Heinz Rölleke (born November 6, 1936 in Düsseldorf ) is a German German scholar and narrative researcher .

Career

Between 1959 and 1964 Rölleke studied German language and literature , history , education and philosophy at the University of Cologne and the University of Zurich . In 1965 he received his doctorate in Cologne with a thesis on literary expressionism and was subsequently assistant for the department of German Medieval Studies at the Institute for German Language and Literature at Cologne University. In 1971 his habilitation in German Philology and Folklore followed with a historical-critical edition of the song collection Des Knaben Wunderhorn . He then worked as a deputy professor at the Universities of Düsseldorf , Cincinnati and Trier until he became Professor of German Philology including Folklore at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal in 1974 .

Partly due to its numerous publications, more than 70 books, mostly tales - legends - and folk song - editions and more than 370 articles and miscellanea , as well as a wide includes review activities in the field of German literary history and literary folklore he became an internationally respected Grimm researcher. He managed to name the informants who passed on their fairy tale knowledge to the Brothers Grimm. In 2001, he was in Wuppertal emeritus .
