Heinz Wosipiwo (born January 25, 1951 in Sohl ) is a former German ski jumper and now a trainer at the state performance center in Klingenthal .

Career

Heinz Wosipiwo began his jumping career under coach Harry Glaß at SC Dynamo Klingenthal . He achieved his first notable placement in 1971/72 at the Four Hills Tournament , when he finished 6th in Innsbruck and fourth overall. In 1973/74 he was eighth again in the International Four Hills Tournament.

However, he was able to celebrate his greatest successes at the ski flying world championships. In 1972 he finished second in Planica behind Walter Steiner but ahead of Jiří Raška . 1975 in Mittendorf / Tauplitz achieved 6th place again in the same discipline. On March 9, 1973 he set a new world record with 169 meters at the Ski Flying World Championships in Oberstdorf on the Heini-Klopfer ski jumping hill . In 1976, at the ski flying week in Oberstdorf, he came second behind Toni Innauer in the overall ranking with a best distance of 166 meters, ahead of the Austrian Hans Wallner.

On "normal" hills his 2nd places in 1973 in Oberstdorf and 1974 in Falun at the world championships (both times behind Hans-Georg Aschenbach ) stand out.
