Chicago Cab (Alternate Title : Hellcab ) is an American comedy film from 1998 . Directed by Mary Cybulski and John Tintori , who also worked as film editors; Will Kern wrote the script based on his own play.

action

The film shows a day in the life of a Chicago taxi driver. It has about 30 passengers; first religious people who want to convert him. Among the passengers is a pregnant woman whom he is driving to a hospital. The taxi driver observes a drug deal. He tells the last passenger the story of a raped woman for whom he used to travel.

Reviews

Roger Ebert wrote in the Chicago Sun-Times on October 2, 1998 that the film lacked dramaturgical highlights. Dillon provides little background knowledge about the character being played.

The film was shot on location in Chicago . The world premiere took place on March 14, 1998 at the South by Southwest Film Festival , which was followed on April 19, 1998 by the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival . On October 2, 1998, the film was released in selected US cinemas, grossing around 5,000 US dollars .
