Helmut Striker

Helmut Stürmer (born February 7, 1942 in Timișoara , Kingdom of Romania ) is a German set and costume designer .

Life

Stürmer studied at the Nicolae Grigorescu Art Academy in Bucharest with Paul Bortnovski. In 1967 he completed his studies with a diploma. From 1968 to 1977 he worked as a set artist at the theater in Sibiu ( German:  Hermannstadt ) and at the Teatrul Bulandra in Bucharest. At the same time, he worked at venues in Romanian cities such as Arad , Cluj-Napoca , Iași , Brașov , Pitești , Ploiești and Timișoara.

Until 1977, Stürmer worked as a set and / or costume designer for five national film productions: Nunta de piatră , Duhul aurului , Tănase Scatiu , Dincolo de nisipuri and Rătăcire .

In 1971 and 1975 he worked at the Stadttheater Köln as a set designer in plays by Lew Nikolajewitsch Tolstoy , Georges Feydeau and Heinrich Böll , followed by a position at the Stadttheater München (1976) and at the Old Tote Theater , Sydney , Australia (1977). In 1977 Stürmer moved to the Federal Republic of Germany and worked at many well-known theaters in Germany and in other European countries.
