Helmut von Werz
Helmut von Werz (full name Helmut Werz Edler von Ostenkampf ; * 1912 in Kronstadt ( Transylvania ), † 1990 ) was a German architect working in Munich .
Life
Helmut von Werz was a son of the Austro-Hungarian major general Emanuel Werz, by Emperor Karl I as at 17 March 1918 Edler from east fight was elevated to the hereditary Austrian nobility.
He came to Munich at the age of 16, graduated from the old secondary school, studied architecture at the technical university and graduated with a degree in engineering . In 1936 he joined Bruno Biehler's architectural office . In 1946 he founded his own architecture office in Munich- Bogenhausen , which Johann-Christoph Ottow joined as a partner in 1952 . In 1971 the partnership was expanded to include Erhard Bachmann and Michel Marx . The architecture office was continued after Helmut von Werz's death and now bears the name Brechensbauer Weinhart + Partner Architects . Partners are: Georg Brechensbauer, Claus Weinhart, Joachim Werner, Andreas Pietsch, Michael Irlen, Markus Bachmann, Thomas Grühn.
In addition to his work as an architect, von Werz was active in numerous committees and associations:
- as a member of the German Academy for Urban Development and Regional Planning ,
- as a member of the German delegation of the Union Internationale des Architectes ,
- as a member of the Comité de Liaison in the EC and
- as a member of the State Planning Advisory Council and the State Monument Council .

- 1953–1955: New construction of the St. Anna primary school in Munich (together with Johann-Christoph Ottow)
- 1954: Evangelical Lutheran Pauluskirche in Traunreut (together with Johann-Christoph Ottow)
- 1955–1957: South building of the hospital on the right of the Isar in Munich (together with Johann-Christoph Ottow)
- 1957–1960: Sun block in Munich (together with Johann-Christoph Ottow)
- 1959: Structural and development planning for the Munich city expansion area Hasenbergl (together with Ernst Maria Lang , Johann-Christoph Ottow and Vocke)
- 1960: Evangelical Holy Spirit Church in Ebersberg (together with Johann-Christoph Ottow)
- 1961: Nazareth Church in Munich (together with Johann-Christoph Ottow)
- 1962: Evangelium Church in Munich (together with Johann-Christoph Ottow)
- 1963: Structural and development planning for the Munich urban expansion area "Westkreuz" in Aubing -Ost (together with Johann-Christoph Ottow)
- 1969-1971: New building of the Martha Maria Hospital , Munich
- 1972–1974: Sparkasse headquarters in Würzburg (together with Johann-Christoph Ottow, Michael Marx and Erhard Bachmann)
- 1972–1975: Prehistoric State Collection in Munich (together with Johann-Christoph Ottow, Michael Marx and Erhard Bachmann)
- 1974–1976: Bavarian Radio Tower in Munich (together with Johann-Christoph Ottow, Michael Marx and Erhard Bachmann)
- Houses at Buschingstraße 3–39 in the Parkstadt Bogenhausen estate in Munich (together with Johannes Ludwig , Johann-Christoph Ottow)
