Herbert James Hagerman

Herbert James Hagerman (born December 15, 1871 in Milwaukee , Wisconsin , † January 28, 1935 in Santa Fe , New Mexico ) was an American politician and governor of the New Mexico Territory from 1906 to 1907 .

Early years

Hagerman first attended public and private schools in his home in Wisconsin. He then continued his training in other areas of the United States. For example, he attended Colorado College and Cornell University . After studying law, he was admitted to the Colorado bar in 1895 .

Political career

Between 1898 and 1901 Hagerman was employed by the American Embassy in Saint Petersburg , Russia. In 1901 he settled with Roswell as a rancher and in 1906 he was named the new Territorial Governor of New Mexico. He only held this office until 1907. During this time he was unable to set any major political accents. After his governorship he returned to his private interests. He died in Santa Fe in January 1935.
