Herbert Lauffer

Herbert Lauffer (born March 21, 1900 in Danzig ; † January 16, 1980 ) was a German economist , lawyer and administrative officer .

After graduation Lauffer took up studies in law and economics, he with two state examination and awarded the degree of Dr. jur. finished. He then worked as a court assessor. He later became director of the Prussian Central Cooperative Fund , which he temporarily chaired. In 1929/30 he also held a position as an unskilled worker with the State Commissioner for Aid to the East. In 1932 he resigned from the board of directors of the Prussian Central Cooperative Fund. After 1933 he practiced as a lawyer.

Lauffer had worked as a department head in the Lower Saxony Ministry of Economics since 1945 . In 1946 he was appointed State Secretary in the Lower Saxony Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Forests and as such was a representative on the Executive Council for the election of the Economic Council of the Bizone . From 1949 to 1951 he was State Secretary and Plenipotentiary of Lower Saxony to the federal government and from February to June 1951 State Secretary in the Lower Saxony Ministry of Justice. From July 1, 1951 to May 31, 1956, he was State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance of the State of Hesse . From 1956 to 1964 he was chairman of the board of directors of the Hessische Landesbank-Girozentrale .
