Hermann Ludwig Nadermann

Hermann Ludwig Nadermann (born December 30, 1778 in Münster ; † October 31, 1860 ibid) was a German Roman Catholic priest, educator and hymn poet.

Nadermann studied Philology and Catholic Theology at the University of Münster . Ordained a priest of the diocese of Münster in 1804 , he worked as a teacher at the Paulinum grammar school in Münster from 1803 and as its director from 1820.

In 1841 he was appointed cathedral chapter and resigned from his position as director. From 1824 he was a member of the scientific examination committee and director of the philological seminar, a position he held until 1853.

In addition to school writings and the publication of Latin classics for school use, he wrote a number of German sacred songs, including a version by Veni, veni, Emmanuel .
