Hermann Schuckmann
Hermann Schuckmann (born July 16, 1616 in Rostock , † June 21, 1686 in Güstrow ) was a German Lutheran theologian, university professor and rector.
Life
Hermann Schuckmann was the eldest son of the legal scholar and consistorial councilor Heinrich Schuckmann and his first wife Anna, nee. Stechow (1594-1635). From 1632 he studied at the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Rostock , then in Greifswald and from 1642 again in Rostock, where he received his master's degree on December 8 under Johann Huswedel .
Schuckmann then worked as a private lecturer and was appointed ducal full professor of theology in Rostock in 1644, accompanied by his doctorate. theol. on July 28, 1645 under Johann Quistorp d. Ä. and the reception the following day. He was also appointed consistorial councilor in 1645. He was procurator and dean of the theological faculty in 1650 and 1650/51 and rector of the university in 1647, 1650 and 1653 . In 1661 he was appointed court preacher in Güstrow and confessor by Duke Gustav Adolf . In 1662 he became a senior at the theological faculty in Güstrow. In 1670 he also became superintendent of the Güstrow circle and first pastor of the Güstrow cathedral. In addition, he was President of the Council of Churches ordered by the Duke and Preses in spiritual and church matters.

Hermann Schuckmann was married from February 25, 1647 to Margareta Lembke (1628–1676), the daughter of the Rostock councilor Jakob Lembke and his wife Anna Havemann. The children came from marriage:
- Heinrich (1648–1706), lawyer, councilor and vice-director of the Rostock Justice Chancellery - ⚭ 1679 with Katharina Schütze, the Duke's daughter. Guestrower Privy Councilor Johann Albert Schütze.
- Johann (1651–1709), Princely Chamber Secretary - ⚭ 1689 with Anna Margareta Friderici, the daughter of Christoph Friderici, Princely Mecklenburg Councilor and Secret Secretary.
- Anna (1653–1716) - ⚭ 1673 with Franz Wolff (1644–1710), Lutheran theologian.
