Hermann Heinrich Theodor von Tresckow (born May 1, 1818 in Blankenfelde , † April 20, 1900 in Wartenberg in the Neumark ) was a Prussian infantry general .

Life

origin

His parents were the Prussian major Heinrich von Tresckow (born January 29, 1784; † February 7, 1822) and his wife Luise, born von Barfus (* October 12, 1786; † February 27, 1846). The family had 15 children.

Military career

Tresckow entered 1835 in the Emperor Alexander Regiment of the Prussian army , took 1848 as adjutant of General Eduard von Bonin at the campaign in Schleswig-Holstein in part, was in 1852 captain in the General Staff , in 1855 Major and the embassy was 1854/56 in Paris attachiert, was adjutant of the king's wing in 1856 , in 1860 commander of the 27th Infantry Regiment , in 1864 chief of staff of the Zernation Forces on the Polish border, then appointed to the military cabinet, in 1865 major general and head of the department for personal affairs, then of the military cabinet itself.

At his request, in November 1870 he was given command of the 17th Infantry Division , which he commanded in the battles at Loigny , Orléans and Le Mans . At the end of January 1871 he was ordered to serve as Adjutant General in the Great Headquarters and in February was again headed the military cabinet.

After the war against France he was given command of the 19th division on March 20, 1872 , which he commanded until January 22, 1873. From September 23, 1873 to August 1, 1888 he was Commanding General of the IX. Army Corps in Altona. In January 1875 he was promoted to general of the infantry. In September 1875 he was appointed chief of the 2nd Magdeburg Infantry Regiment No. 27. On August 1, 1888, he handed his corps over to General Paul von Leszczynski and took his leave.

He died unmarried on April 20, 1900 on the Wartenberg estate in Neumark he had acquired in 1883.
