Hermann von and zu Guttenberg

Baron Hermann von und zu Guttenberg (born March 26, 1816 in Würzburg , † April 26, 1882 there ) was a Bavarian landowner and politician.

Life

Hermann von und zu Guttenberg came from the Franconian aristocratic family Guttenberg and was the owner of the Guttenberg and Weisendorf estates in Upper Franconia and Schackau and Eckweisbach in the Rhön . From 1833 to 1837 he studied in Munich Law and then made several more trips abroad. He supported efforts to promote Bavarian agriculture. In 1867 he was chairman of the assembly of Bavarian farmers in Aschaffenburg .

From 1863 to 1868 Hermann von und zu Guttenberg was a member of the Bavarian Chamber of Deputies for the constituency of Forchheim . In 1868 he became a member of the Chamber of the Bavarian Imperial Councils for life.

From 1868 to 1870 he was also a member of the customs parliament as a member of the Lower Franconia constituency ( Kitzingen , Gerolzhofen , Ochsenfurt , Volkach ) .
