Hermione
Hermione is a female given name . It is the feminine derivation of the name Hermann , which comes from Old High German , and means something like "warrior" or "fighter". The short form is Herma . In ancient Greek the name is the feminine form of the messenger of the gods Hermes; "Messenger, worldly". In Greek mythology, Hermione is the daughter of King Menelaus (Roman Menelaus) of Sparta and Helena and the wife of Orestes.
