The Herzberg Castle Concerts are one of the annual cultural highlights at Herzberg Castle in the Göttingen district in Lower Saxony .

history

In 1986 the city of Herzberg am Harz launched the Herzberg Castle Concerts. Since then, six to eight high-level concerts have been offered annually in the Knights' Hall at Schloss Herzberg . The demanding concert season usually begins with the New Year's concerts in January.

A large part are classical piano concerts, the artists play on a grand piano of the Braunschweiger Pianofortefabrik Grotrian-Steinweg . Many musicians such as Gerrit Zitterbart or Ilona Teimurasowa have been to Herzberg many times and keep coming back to the Welfenschloss for guest performances .

In addition, there are regularly two to four special concerts of very different genres . B. with Hille Perl and Lee Santana or the brass ensemble of the Heeresmusikkorps Hannover .

The Herzberg Castle Association has been the organizer of the Herzberg Castle Concerts since 2013 . The Herzberg Castle Concerts are sponsored by the Southern Lower Saxony Regional Association.

In spring 2019, a fairy tale reading for adults was offered for the first time on two days , guests in the knight's hall at Schloss Herzberg were the well-known actress Janette Rauch and the guitarist Gabriel Hernández Westpfahl.
