history

The district was first mentioned in documents in 1378. It can be assumed that the use of the area around Hetzdorf is due to the work of the monks and Slavic settlers. Hetzdorf later belonged to the parish of St. Georgenberg in Bürgel. The connection to Bürgel also existed in this area.

The majority of Hetzdorf belonged to the Wettin district office of Eisenberg . 2 houses in the village with the associated field estates belonged to the Bürgel monastery as a preliminary work and after its dissolution in the course of the Reformation in 1526 came to the Ernestine office of Bürgel . The offices of Eisenberg and Bürgel, and with them the two parts of Hetzdorf, were under the sovereignty of various Ernestine duchies due to several divisions in the course of their existence .

From 1815 the Weimar share of Hetzdorf, d. H. the manor, under the sovereignty of the Grand Duchy of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach (Office Bürgel with Tautenburg). The Altenburg main part of the village came in 1826 with the southern part of the Eisenberg district office and the town of Eisenberg from the Duchy of Saxony-Gotha-Altenburg to the Duchy of Saxony-Altenburg . From 1920 Hetzdorf belonged entirely to the Free State of Thuringia.
