Hetzmannsdorf was first mentioned in a document in 1289. In the period that followed, Hetzmannsdorf was under different owners, such as the rulers of Schwarzenburg, the rule of the Leuchtenbergers or the monastery of Schönthal .

With the municipal edict of the Kingdom of Bavaria from 1808, the rural community Hetzmannsdorf was formed. In 1836 there were plans to merge the neighboring village of Grassersdorf with the community. This merger was sought again in 1860, but after a vote in favor of the independence of both places, this was not done.

The Hetzmannsdorf volunteer fire brigade was founded around 1896 . In the mid-1920s, the community was connected to the power supply by OBAG .

Shortly after the Second World War , Hetzmannsdorf was incorporated into the town of Rötz together with the localities of Bauhof and Schellhof in 1946 . The connection to the central water supply of the city of Rötz took place in 1962. From 1965 to 1975 the place received a new road surface , in addition, the connecting roads to Rötz and the building yard were expanded.

Culture and clubs

A May Festival takes place almost annually on April 30th. With the active support of the village community and external visitors, the maypole that has been felled and decorated in advance is set up there.

Volunteer firefighter

At the end of the 19th century, the Hetzmannsdorf volunteer fire brigade was founded, which now has many members from the Hetzmannsdorf and Bauhof communities. The exact date of foundation is not known, but a letter from the Hetzmannsdorf functionaries to the Bavarian State Fire Brigade Committee dated May 4, 1896, so that the actual founding year could be 1896. The long-cherished wish for an own club flag was fulfilled shortly after the First World War . At the beginning of the 1920s, this was purchased for 6 million marks during the period of inflation . Already in 1938, before the beginning of the Second World War, the 40th anniversary was celebrated somewhat late. The 60th anniversary was celebrated in 1956 with a much larger party. A new flag and portable pump could also be blessed. From August 2nd to 5th, 1996, the 100th anniversary of the fire brigade was celebrated in a large-scale festival.

Sa 'Erpfl

Once a week, an informal crowd of men from Hetzmannsdorf and the surrounding area meet in a hut on the edge of the village for a sociable get-together. The history of the Sa 'Erpfl - named after potatoes roasted in an open campfire - goes back to 1979, when young villagers built a hut as a meeting point. After this had to give way to development measures and the hut that was then used fell victim to the fire, the old fire station, which had been replaced by a new building, was moved to the edge of the village in 1981. After a renovation, the Sa' Erpfl-Hütte still serves as a meeting point for the older and newly arrived "members". Excursions are organized every year, such as the family outing that takes place on German Unity Day. Until the mid-1990s, annual hut festivals were held, the proceeds of which were used for charitable purposes such as the Rötzer Christmas market or social institutions.
