history
Heinrichskirchen (also: Haeinrichs'chirchen, Hainreis'cherchen, Hainreichs'chirchen, Hainnerskirchen, Hainerskhürchen) was first mentioned in writing in 1285 when Count Berengar von Leonberg transferred the tithe rights to Heinrichskirchen to Schönthal Monastery. In 1337, Weichmann the Hulsteter sold his two fiefs in Heinrichskirchen to the Schönthal monastery. Weichmann's three sons: Görg, Vlreich (= Ulrich) and Hans owned a farm in Heinrichskirchen in 1349, from which they paid taxes to the Schönthal monastery.
In 1410 Friedrich Auer zu Brennberg, as guardian of Hanns Sazenhofer and Wilhelm der Sazenhofer zum Frauenstein, transferred income from a farm and an estate in Heinrichskirchen to the Schönthal monastery.
A directory of profitable properties and grounds of the Schönthal monastery from 1429 contains Heinrichskirchen, along with other localities.
In the tax book of 1631 Heinrichskirchen was listed as belonging to the rule Schneeberg and Tiefenbach. At that time it had 1 church, 3 farms, 7 Gütel, 3 Sölden, 2 Söldengütel, 1 Söldenhäusel, 1 Tripfhäusel, 1 smithy, 2 residents, 49 cattle, 7 pigs, 52 sheep, 2 goats.
In the tax book of 1661 Heinrichskirchen was listed as belonging to the rule Schneeberg and Tiefenbach. At that time it had 1 church, 3 farms, 2 estates, 4 Gütel, 2 Sölden, 1 Söldengütel, 3 Söldenhäusel (1 burned down), 1 forge, 1 fire place, 2 residents (including the village guardian), 66 cattle, 11 pigs, 47 sheep.
In 1783 Heinrichskirchen is mentioned with 21 properties as belonging to Hofmark Tiefenbach, owner of Reisach.
In 1797 the monetary and natural interest on a property in Heinrichskirchen went to the Walderbach monastery.
At the end of the 18th century Heinrichskirchen belonged to the Hofmark Tiefenbach with the owner of Reisach. At that time the Hofmark Tiefenbach belonged to the district court of Neunburg vorm Wald . A property in Heinrichskirchen was landable at the end of the 18th century for the Walderbach monastery .
At the beginning of the 19th century, Heinrichskirchen belonged to the Tiefenbach tax district . There were 30 properties in the village, a blacksmith, a tailor, five weavers and a landlord.
In 1809 the Hofmark Tiefenbach was a patrimonial court under its owner Friedrich Freiherr von Reisach , to which Heinrichskirchen belonged to 32 families. Despite lengthy disputes between Friedrich Freiherr von Reisach and his descendants, on the one hand, and the government, on the other, this patrimonial court remained in place until 1848, initially first class, from 1830 second class. In 1840 Otto Graf von Bray bought Tiefenbach from Count Pestalozza. Otto Graf von Bray ceded patrimonial jurisdiction over Tiefenbach and Altenschneeberg to the state on June 21, 1848.
In the years 1820/21 Heinrichskirchen with 30 families became a rural community .
The Oberviechtach Regional Court was founded in 1840, and Heinrichskirchen was one of those places that came from the Neunburg Regional Court to the Oberviechtach Regional Court .
In 1900 Heinrichskirchen belonged to the Oberviechtach District Office and the Oberviechtach District Court.
In 1964 Heinrichskirchen was a registry office district.
On July 1, 1972, the Heinrichskirchen community was dissolved and incorporated into the town of Rötz. There was a group of residents in Heinrichskirchen who fought for their place to be connected to Winklarn and for the community to remain in the Schwandorf district as the successor to the Oberviechtach district . However, this group could not prevail.

religion
Heinrichskirchen was initially a branch of the parish of Rötz. In 1474 the whole parish of Rötz was incorporated into the Schönthal monastery by papal decree.
As a result of the Reformation , there were multiple religious changes in the Upper Palatinate. Lutheran teaching prevailed since 1520. Elector Ottheinrich forbade the Catholic cult completely in 1556. The Catholic church structure of dioceses and deaneries has been replaced by a network of superintendents . Heinrichskirchen was under the superintendent of Neunburg vorm Wald. Elector Friedrich III. wanted to introduce Calvinism in 1563, but met with fierce resistance from the population. His son, Elector Ludwig VI. , 1564 to 1576 governor in Amberg, again preferred the Lutheran doctrine. A special deputy principality was created for his younger brother, Count Palatine Johann Kasimir , to which Heinrichskirchen also belonged. In this area, the Reformed teaching and from 1583 Calvinism continued to apply. From 1625, Elector Maximilian I reintroduced Catholicism throughout the Upper Palatinate. In the restored Catholic church structure, Heinrichskirchen belonged as a branch church to the parish of Rötz and to the deanery of Nabburg.
After secularization and the associated abolition of the Schönthal monastery in 1809, Heinrichskirchen became an independent parish. In 1809 the entire parish of Heinrichskirchen had 893 Catholics. She belonged to the deanery of Nabburg. In 1837 the deaneries were reorganized. Heinrichskirchen came to the dean's office in Neunburg vorm Wald, where it remained until 1927. In 1838 the entire parish of Heinrichskirchen had 123 houses, 958 Catholics and no non-Catholics. In 1860 the entire parish of Heinrichskirchen had 126 houses, 970 Catholics. In 1913 the entire parish of Heinrichskirchen had 734 Catholics and no non-Catholics. Heinrichskirchen has belonged to the dean's office in Waldmünchen since 1927. In 1990 the entire parish of Heinrichskirchen had 714 Catholics and 2 non-Catholics. In 2003 it was decided that the parish of Rötz and the parish of Heinrichskirchen together form a parish community that belongs to the dean's office in Cham.

The church in Heinrichskirchen is consecrated to St. Nicholas . The current church was built around 1750 on older foundations, the tower around 1894/95. The nave ceiling fresco, the fresco in the choir and the high altar picture were created by Josef Wittmann . The church and its equipment are under monument protection.
Next to the church is a cemetery chapel, which was built in the second half of the 19th century. About 300 meters further south-west on the road to Pillmersried is the "Auf dem Ahorn" chapel, built around 1900. Both chapels are also under monument protection.
