Hino ( Japanese 日 野 町 , - chō ) is a city southeast of Lake Biwa in Gamō-gun in the east of the Japanese prefecture of Shiga .
history
On March 16, 1955, the old Hino merged with the Mura Minamihizusa ( 南 比 都 佐 村 , -mura ), Kitahizusa ( 北 比 都 佐 村 , -mura ), Kaigake ( 鎌 掛 村 , -mura ), Nishiōji ( 西 大路 村 , -mura ), Higashisakuradani ( 東 桜 谷 村 , -mura ) and Nishisakuradani ( 西 桜 谷 村 , -mura ) to the new Hino.
Attractions
- "Flower Hill" theme park ( burume no oka ), opened in 1997: the park was built based on German flower culture; Various events are offered in summer; the German twin town Neustadt an der Aisch was given the opportunity to set up a local museum on 120 m² (focus: living around the turn of the century, agriculture, fishing and schooling); Copies of buildings, towers and inns in the Franconian style were built - including the market square fountain from Neustadt an der Aisch - however, it is not adorned by Neptune (as in the original), but by Gänseliesel .
