geography

course

The Hohlbach rises in the western Hohen Vogelsberg at an altitude of about 516  m above sea level. NHN north of the Schotten district of Rudingshain in a mixed forest a little south of the L 3139

After the brook has left the forest, it initially flows through grassland in a south-south-westerly direction, accompanied by sparse woodland. At the corridor in the Hohlbach it is strengthened on its right by a second spring branch. It now moves in a south-westerly direction along the southern edge of a mixed forest tip and then runs south-south-west through grassland.

Finally it flows a good half a kilometer northeast of Schotten and a little north of the Langemühle at an altitude of about 330  m above sea level. NHN from the right the Nidda .

Its 4.1 km long run ends about 240 meters below its source, so it has an average bed gradient of 59 ‰.
