The Seenbach is an 18.3 km long, left-hand tributary of the Ohm in the Hohen and Unteren Vogelsberg , district of Gießen and Vogelsbergkreis , Hesse . Its upper course, which runs in east-west direction, lies directly on the Main - Lahn -Wasserscheide, its lower course, which runs towards north, forms the border between the western (= left) Vorderen and the lower Vogelsberg on the right .

course

The Seenbach rises at the northwest foot of the 640 m high Feldkrückener Höhe , a good 1 km southwest of Kölzenhain and a good 2 km west of Feldkrücken - both districts of Ulrichstein . From here it first flows west over the Petershainer Hof , forms the city boundary between Ulrichstein in the north and Schotten in the south for about 800 m , and finally flows into Laubacher Terrain and thus also into the district of Gießen . After the Oberseener Hof , the Kreuzseener Grund is flown through until the Lumda plateau is touched at the village of Freienseen and the course changes to the north.

The now left (= west) of the federal highway 276 flows around the plateau from the east, reaches u. a. the Grünberg district of Stockhausen and finally, again in the Vogelsbergkreis, the Mücker district of Flensungen , where the Ilsbach flows from the right as the most important tributary. Immediately after flowing through the Merlau district to the north , the Seenbach finally flows from the left to the Ohm coming from the east , which now adopts the north direction of its tributary as the eastern border of the Lumda plateau.
