The Ilsbach , also called Streitbach or Sausel in the upper and middle runners , is a 20.7 km long, right-hand tributary of the Seenbach in the Hohen and Unteren Vogelsberg and at the eastern interface with the Vorderen Vogelsberg , Vogelsbergkreis , Hesse .

The so-called Streitborn is located at an altitude of over 700 m, only 900 meters west-northwest of the Sieben-Ahorn summit in the so-called Oberwald , as the wooded summit region above 600 m on the Vogelsberg is also called. From there the river flows through the Hohen Vogelsberg in westerly and northwestern directions through various districts of Ulrichstein ( Feldkrücken , Kölzenhain and Wohnfeld ) to finally land in the Lower Vogelsberg and its western interface to the Vorderen Vogelsberg in the large community of Mücke .
After passing the districts of Sellnrod and Groß-Eichen , the 15.5 km long Gilgbach (= Rauchel ) flows in from the right ; After flowing through Ilsdorf , the Seenbach coming from the south (= left) is finally reached in the north of Flensungen .

The 48.13 km² catchment area of the Ilsbach is in the Vogelsberg and is drained to the North Sea via the Seenbach, Ohm , Lahn and Rhine .
