Holtgast is the name of a nature reserve in the Lower Saxon community of Apen in the Ammerland district .

The nature reserve with the sign NSG WE 080 is 34.6  hectares in size. It is almost congruent with the FFH area "Holtgast". The area has been a nature reserve since November 10, 1942. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Ammerland.

The nature reserve is located west of Augustfehn and north of the village of Holtgast. It is characterized by moist birch bog forest, in which reeds and large sedge reeds can also be found in the area of ​​a Schlatt in the south of the protected area .
