Honda CZ 100 Mokick

The CZ 100 ( Monkey Bike ) is a mini mokick which, as the successor to the ancestor Honda Z 100, reached market maturity and was mainly sold to Europe.

The first CZ 100 model appeared in 1963 as the so-called Mark 1 . The successor Mark 2 followed in 1964, but only differs from its predecessor in small details. The Honda CZ 100 "Mark 1" had a white tank, the lamp did not contain a speedometer. The Mark 1 headlight is therefore slightly larger in diameter. Furthermore, the front wheel does not contain a mount for a speedometer drive. The Mark 1 ignition coil is located in the engine. The Mark 1 is much rarer. Exact numbers are unknown. The Mark 1 fenders are reinforced with a bead at the edges. The triangular sheets of the exhaust can be removed and allow cleaning of the exhaust. However, this exhaust was rarely completely leak-proof, which was then changed for the Mark 2 series. The CZ 100 is equipped with a 50 cm³ 4-stroke engine with an impressive output of around 4 hp and is completely rigid, ie without any suspension. The tires were only 5 inches. Like the Honda Z100 , this Mokick appears as a children's motorcycle , but was mostly ridden by adults. The marketing took place with arguments such as recreational vehicle to take with you in the trunk , for z. B. campers, yacht owners and pilots.

The models that were sold to France differed in further details. The lamp had a yellow bulb at the front, the bench was raised and a luggage rack was attached.

The tank and engine of the CZ 100 were borrowed from other Honda models ( Honda C 110 , Honda Super Cub ). This made the CZ 100 the first mokick in the now legendary Monkey series that was actually marketed. After Germany were in 1963 only a handful of CZ 100 marks sold 1 models - if at all. Two copies have so far been confirmed with an operating permit. The CZ 100 Mark 2 was raffled off in slightly larger numbers by the youth magazine Bravo in the mid-1960s . In total, one can probably assume around 200 CZ 100 models that were brought to the people in Germany. Common nicknames for the CZ 100 were the Honda Monkey , the names Pfiffikus and Honda Zwerg . The age and the small number of pieces make the CZ 100 a sought-after collector's item.
