Original Honda NSR 125 from 2001

The NSR 125 R is a light motorcycle with a two-stroke engine , which was built by Honda until 2003 . The successor to the NSR is the Honda CBR 125 R with a four-stroke engine. In many external details it is similar to the Honda NR 750 .

The NSR 125 R has a single-cylinder two-stroke engine with a displacement of 125 cm³ and an output of 11 kW (15 PS). According to the manufacturer, the open version has 28 hp (21 kW); the JC 22 from year of construction 1994 has the same engine as the JC 20 model before 1994, but with different cylinder sets. The models JC 20 and JC 22 can be driven both with the A1 license (reduced to 11 kW (15 HP), from 16 years of age) and with the A2 or A license (unthrottled). The design was revised for the year 2000. The labels on the handles and on the dashboard have been replaced by small characters.

The soft, sprung fork and the striking light mask of the NSR are striking.

Racing variant

The much rarer racing variant NSR 125 SP (Sport Production) bears the model designation JD 00 and, according to the manufacturer, has 25 kW (34 PS) and a top speed of 168 km / h. The higher performance was primarily achieved by a racing exhaust system from the manufacturer Solfer. Further modifications are the double ignition "PGM3" and the absence of the electric starter (only kick starter). Furthermore, the SP models have an improved chassis with White Power strut or Marzocci strut, a fuel gauge (no reserve) and another cylinder with an oval outlet and a modified cylinder head with a modified combustion chamber. In addition, the front and rear suspension is air-assisted, and the shock absorber can also be adjusted for damping in rebound and compression.
