Honda X8R

Honda X8R-S

The Honda X8R (SZX50) is a no longer in production scooter from the Japanese manufacturer Honda and was offered in two different versions. The X8R was a so-called sports scooter, which was particularly popular with young drivers. The versions differ technically only in minor details, but visually relatively strong.

Honda tried to position the scooter as a kind of little brother of the super sports motorcycles, which never really succeeded. Its great popularity arose rather from its great reliability and practical properties such as low fuel consumption, relatively good weather protection and plenty of storage space, as well as the pleasing appearance. The comfort-oriented chassis and the comparatively powerful engine are rather untypical for a sports scooter. However, the latter point has been "improved" by young drivers on many vehicles. The X8R is still popular with scooter tuners today.

X8R-S

The X8R-S (S stands for "Sport") is the normal model of the X8R and is more common than the X model. It was delivered in the normal version with the sponsor stickers of the respective Honda GP racing machines of the current year. There were also some special models that were optically based on the racing machines of individual Honda works drivers.

X8R-X

The X8R-X is a kind of hybrid of a sports scooter and a supermoto motorcycle and was advertised as a "replica" of the Honda supermoto racing machines. The scooter has a very aggressive look, which is reminiscent of a hornet with the black and yellow design (also available in other colors) .

The X in the model name symbolically stands for "cross". Visually, the X differs from the S in terms of color and lettering. It is also equipped with smaller wheels and the final transmission does not correspond to the standard version.
