Hoofdklasse (chess) 1964/65

In the Hoofdklasse 1964/65 the 42nd Dutch team championship in chess was played.

The Vereenigd Amsterdamsch Schaakgenootschap (VAS) and Philidor Leeuwarden fought head-to-head for the title. The direct comparison ended in a draw, and since the VAS won all other competitions, but Leeuwarden had two more draws, VAS became champion. The defending champion Amsterdamsche Schaakclub had to be content with fourth place. In class 1, the Eindhoven SV descended.
