Hoofdklasse (chess) 1983/84
In the Hoofdklasse 1983/84 the 61st Dutch team championship in chess was played.
The L & T / Eindhovense SV was only one draw against the defending Volmac Rotterdam (who had to settle for third place), and had before the last round the title of the Dutch team master safely. De Variant Breda and SV Zukertort Amstelveen had moved up from class 1 . Both promoted players achieved relegation, Vereenigd Amsterdamsch Schaakgenootschap / Amsterdamsch Schaakclub and Utrecht had to relegate.

The competitions were held on September 17, October 8, November 20, December 10, 1983, January 7, February 4, March 10 and 31, and April 28, 1984.
