Hoofdklasse (chess) 1976/77

In the Hoofdklasse 1976/77 the 54th Dutch team championship in chess was played.

The defending champions Desisco / Watergraafsmeer and Volmac Rotterdam fought head-to-head for the title, which Rotterdam won. H Data / VAS and VHS Haarlem had moved up from class 1 . Both climbers achieved relegation, while the Eindhovense SV and Utrecht relegated.
