Hoofdklasse (chess) 1984/85

In the Hoofdklasse 1984/85 the 62nd Dutch team championship in chess was played.

Volmac Rotterdam gave up only one draw against defending champions L & T / Eindhovense SV (who ended up in second place) and had already secured the title of Dutch team champions before the last round. SMB Nijmegen and Bussums Schaakgenootschap were promoted from class 1 . Both newly promoted players achieved relegation, Philidor Leeuwarden and De Variant Breda had to relegate .

The competitions were held on September 22, October 13, November 10, December 15, 1984, January 12, February 9, March 9, April 13 and May 11, 1985.
