Hussein Iashaish ( Arabic حسين عشيش, DMG Ḥusain ʿIšaiš ; * 6. August 1995 in Amman ) is a Jordanian amateur boxer in the super heavyweight .

successes

The 1.82 m tall southpaw began boxing in 2010, reached 10th place at the 2012 World Youth Championships in Armenia and won a bronze medal at the 2013 Asian Youth Championships in the Philippines .

In 2014 he won the Jordanian championships and was able to take part in the 2014 Asian Games in South Korea , where he finished 7th. In 2015 he defended the national championship title, won a bronze medal at the Asian Championships in Thailand after losing to Ivan Dytschko in the semi-final and started at the 2015 World Championships in Qatar , where he was eliminated in the quarter-finals against Bahodir Jalolov in 7th place.

In 2016 he won a bronze medal at the Chemistry Cup in Germany and qualified for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Brazil in the eliminations in China . There he beat Mihai Nistor in the second round and lost in the quarter-finals to the eventual Olympic champion Tony Yoka .

By winning a bronze medal at the 2017 Asian Championships in Uzbekistan , he qualified for the 2017 World Championships in Germany. There he was eliminated in the second round against Məhəmmədrəsul Məcidov .

At the Asian Championships in Thailand in 2019 , he was eliminated in the semi-finals against Sanjar Tursunov and won bronze. At the 2019 World Championships in Russia, he was eliminated in the quarter-finals against Vasily Levit .
