The Hutná (German Saubach , on the upper course Höllenbach ) is a left tributary of the Eger in the Czech Republic . As a result of open-cast lignite mining, the river is now divided into an 8.3 km long upper course and 18.1 km long lower course.

Upper course

The Hutná arises 700 m southwest of Nebovazy in the Bohemian part of the Ore Mountains from the confluence of two source streams, the Mühlbächel and the Pfarrbächel. The latter rises east of the village of Celná on a plateau. At Křimov , Nebovazy and Lideň past Hutná first flows to the southeast. At Strážky , the stream turns south on the Jedlina ( Tännichhübel , 676 m) and flows through the Höllental at Hradiště ( Small Purberg , 594 m) to Málkov , where it enters the North Bohemian Basin . Since the 1960s the Hutná flows here after 6.5 kilometers at 388 m above sea level. M. left into the Podkrušnohorský přivaděč canal . South of the canal, the former course of the river leads 800 m to a connecting ditch from the ponds Uklidňující nádrž and Panský rybník to the Třínerný rybník ( Green Pond ). The village of Zásada ( Sosau ) used to be at this point .

Middle course

The důl Nástup lignite mine is located at the point where the river flows . The course of the Hutná is interrupted over a length of 6.6 kilometers.

The Hutná used to flow here from Zásada via Ahníkov ( Hagensdorf ) to the south to Kralupy ( German Kralupp ), where it changed its direction to the southeast. The villages Račice ( Retschitz ), Nasí ( Naschau ) and Brány ( Prahn ) followed along the river , where the Rachel joins on the left.

Lower course

Today's lower reaches are sometimes referred to as Černovický potok . It has its origin at the southwestern foot of the Farářka ( Pater , 357 m) at 289.5 m above sea level. M. at the confluence of the Černovický potok ( Rachel ). The extinct village of Brančíky ( Prenzig ) and the villages of Březno , Střezov, Holetice, Denětice, Hrušovany , Hořetice, Žiželice , Velichov and Staňkovice lie in a south-easterly direction along the Hutná . The Hutná flows northeast of Žatec at 195.5 m above sea level. M. in the Eger. The separated lower reaches has a length of 18.1 kilometers and a catchment area of ​​52.89 km².

Between Žatec and Březno, the Praha – Chomutov railway line runs along the Hutná on the left.
