The 1975/76 season was the second season of I-divisioona , the second highest Finnish ice hockey division . Kiekko-Reipas rose to the SM-liiga . JoKP Joensuu was relegated to the third division.

In the main round, each of the ten teams played a total of 36 games. The first placed rose to the SM-liiga. The last placed rose to the third division. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a defeat.
