IC 4748 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Peacock in the southern sky . It is estimated 189 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 45,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies IC 4741 , IC 4742 , IC 4752 , IC 4755 .
The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart on July 20, 1901 .
