IC 4765 is an elliptical galaxy of Hubble type E in the constellation Peacock on southern sky . It is estimated to be 197 million light years from the Milky Way and about 210,000 light years in diameter .
The galaxies IC 4764 , IC 4766 , IC 4767 , IC 4769 are in the same region of the sky .

The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart on July 20, 1901 .
